I hope your summer was full of fun and adventure! I think it went by too fast but despite the weather, my husband and I did managed to get the holiday trailer out for five camping trips which holds a record for us. We actually have two more booked in September, which is my favorite month for camping with the shorter days and cooler campfire nights… Oh but first I need to book my blood donation appointment (and, of course, my husband's appointment seeing as we compete for number of donations! lol) Will you join me?
You have all been very generous over the summer months and we are at 37% of our goal. We have three months to get to 150 donations. I know that I am going to get my adult children to donate blood and join our partners for life team. That's my goal. We need to get our friends, neighbors, family members on board. Take them for lunch and then a blood donation. My husband and I got one of our adult children to join last spring and we are working on two more. Let's brainstorm our ideas at our next meet-up on how we can bring new donors in.
February Blood challenge social was held at Tiffany's Steakhouse in Red Deer. 21 were in attendance and we celebrated EIGHT new blood donations this month! Way to go team!!
It has been in our blood as Rotarians to give for 120 years! Supporting Canadian Blood services doesn't mean just giving blood, a financial contribution also goes a long way. Any donation will play an integral role in connecting patients with lifesaving essentials where and when they need them. Whether making a blood gift or making a financial gift, you will help save and transform lives.
We encourage all Rotarians to invite family and friends to join our “blood challenge team” and help us meet our goals.
